Great location, friendly staff and all areas were nice and clean. The bed was a little to firm ( hard ) for us, but room was very nice. No microwave in rooms, if you're staying a few days the trip down to the 2nd floor to use the only microwave for guests was a little inconvenient. Overall, we would stay again, but we also might check out a couple other places close to the same area.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at this hotel. The room we had overlooked one of the mountains and had a great view. The furnishings were modern, comfortable, and clean, the room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was very clean and large. The hotel has many great spots for taking photos and plenty of places to chat. It also has several restaurants, and there's snow behind the hotel where you can play and sled. I'm giving it 4 stars for two reasons. The first reason is that the coffee maker in the room is too slow and doesn't heat the water properly. I didn't complain about this problem because I think they should replace them with coffee makers that have a water tank. The second reason is that there's a receptionist who has a very strong personality and speaks loudly, so it sounds like she's shouting, and I didn't like that. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It was a unique, special, and very emotional experience. I enjoyed it with my family, and we created memories that we will never forget. Thank you very much, and happy travels!

Update: I am raising my rating because the Rooms Director, Max Brown, personally reached out to resolve this. He was professional, empathetic to the safety concerns regarding the storm, and provided full 3-night credit for a future stay. While the initial process was frustrating, the leadership here clearly cares about their guests and is willing to make things right. Safety is not a priority here – Avoid if weather is a factor I booked a stay here to ski with my kids, but a major storm hit Tahoe with the National Weather Service warning that driving would be "impossible." For the safety of my family, I chose not to risk the drive. While I understand the terms of a non-refundable booking, the way Margaritaville handled this "act of God" situation was appalling. • Impossible to reach management: Their AI phone bot, "Ave," is designed to cut you off if you booked via a third party. • Zero responsiveness: I was told a "special manager" handles these cases, but staff refused to provide a name, phone number, or email. I sent a formal email to the hotel over a week ago and have been completely ignored. • Zero flexibility: In years of traveling to Tahoe, every other hotel has offered a credit or a date change when life-threatening weather occurs. Margaritaville took the money and went silent. If you value customer service and safety, stay elsewhere. Once they have your money, you are on your own.

We arrived on Friday at 11 p.m. and left on Sunday at noon. The hotel is nice, and they have two fountains with turtles. We didn’t try the buffet; it looked like a regular buffet, nothing surprising. They give you $25 per day per room to use on food or drinks. We only used it on Saturday for one beer and one drink. Overall, it was a good experience. Someone had previously complained about the pool having too many chemicals. Here I just want to point out that the use of chemicals is “justified,” so to speak, to keep the pool clean. Why? Simply because in our case, we used the jacuzzi, and there is a sign clearly stating the maximum number of people allowed. However, kids were going in, staying there, and leaving without supervision, and without their guardians explaining this restriction to them . They have a bubble-style dining area that looks cute; unfortunately, everything was booked until the Wednesday after our departure. Check-out: honestly excellent — we were able to store our luggage and car while we went to the park, which is just a few steps away. Upon arrival, they ask for a “safe deposit,” which, due to their “hidden fees” — which I believe are for parking (I say “I believe” because I never received that bill) — you should not expect to get back. My 4-star rating is simply because of the deposit; I never received the invoice detailing what it was applied to.

Rooms are spacious and appropriately appointed. We stayed in a suite with a living room & bedroom. Bathroom lights are all or nothing, which is great when getting ready but kind of blinding at night. Matt at the valet desk was also a great greeter & Alexis at the front desk used her quick thinking in my time of need to remedy a self-created issue. Being able to walk everywhere is a huge bonus to this location.

I stayed at this hotel as a guest. The hotel itself is very beautiful, and my friends’ room was very comfortable. There was music playing downstairs. Many people were sitting, relaxing, and watching games, musicians were performing songs, and kids were playing. On the first floor, you could grab a tasty snack or shop for clothing and other items. The only thing that bothered me was the smell of marijuana, especially since there were children playing nearby.

I stayed for one week at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe. The rooms were comfortable, and the hotel offers a wide range of amenities and on-site restaurants. The staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay. The location is excellent—right next to the gondola, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The hotel only offers valet parking and charges a resort fee; however, the fee includes a dining credit that can be used at the hotel’s restaurants. I ate on property twice—the food was decent but nothing exceptional. The room included a small refrigerator but no microwave. There is a shared microwave on the second floor near the swimming pool, which isn’t very convenient, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker. The gym and heated swimming pool were definite highlights and a big plus for the stay. Overall, I enjoyed my time there and would recommend this hotel.
